Exchange Server Environment Monthly Maintenance (Resolved)

    We will be performing some maintenance on our Hosted Exchange environment on Saturday, 31 July 2021 @ 21:00 until 01 August 2021 @ 04:00.

     

    The following servers will be affected:

    • knersus.ggisexch02.co.za (Work to be performed: Installation of critical operating system and Exchange Server patches).
    • hostexch01.geckohost.co.za (Work to be performed: Installation of critical operating system and Exchange Server patches).
    • hostexch02.geckohost.co.za (Work to be performed: Installation of critical operating system and Exchange Server patches and moving of some mailboxes to a different mail store).
    • hostexch01.resolvecloud.co.za (Work to be performed: Installation of critical operating system and Exchange Server patches and installation of a critical malware update).

     

    All updates will be done in parallel to ensure minimum downtime, however a reboot of the the servers is required on completion of all updates.

     

    In the event that the mailbox move on hostexch02 is not completed on Saturday evening, it will be suspended on Sunday morning, and continue on Sunday evening from 21:00.

     

    Support will be available during this time via our support@resolvetech.co.za channel.

Nameserver updates (Resolved)

    We are in process of changing all nameservers for domains hosted with us to reflect the new company servers. This process will be completed by 31 October 2020.

     

    Only the DNS server names are changed, this will have no impact on any of the services we provide.

     

    Any messages from ZACR or the Central Domain Registry can be ignored.

  • We are currently experiencing an outage on one of hour hosted exchange servers.

    The issue has been reported to our server team and they are investigating and will provide feedback ASAP.

Slow internet access to international sites (Resolved)

  • We are aware of slow internet speeds affecting international websites.

    The issue has been identified as a cable break on two of our international submarine cable links connecting Africa with Europe. Traffic is being re-routed, however this will affect your experience when visiting international websites.

    Engineers have ascertained that the SAT3/WACS break is in the Libreville, Gabon, Vicinity and the WACS cable break has been isolated to the Congo between two repeater sites. Further tests are being conducted by the upstream provider along with the cable consortium's.

    This issue is also affecting our spam cloud which is located in the Netherlands. Email delivery times may be affected during peak periods.

Planned system maintenance (Resolved)

    Progress has been delayed due to unforseen circumstances. The migration has been rescheduled to 21 December 2018 from 18:00


    All POP3/SMTP accounts on scratchy will be migrated to a new dedicated server. 

    The entire server will be shutdown and all email will be queued until the migrations is complete.

    Customers should not lose any email, but there will be no connectivity during the migration process.
